The Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE film scanner delivers reasonably high-quality scans, but be prepared to invest some time in learning how to use its scan utility.
Optical resolution rated at 7,200 pixels per inch. Hardware-based dust and scratch removal.
Scans only one slide or frame of film at a time. Little automation in the software.
That said, if 35mm film and slide scanning is all you need, and you're willing to spend the time both mastering SilverFast and adjusting the settings individually on every scan, the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE can be a good choice. And its...

The Plustek OpticFilm 8200i Ai film scanner offers high resolution, hardware-based dust and scratch removal, and simple color calibration for scans.

The easiest way to get high-quality professional 35mm scans, but not the ideal solution for large batches
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Very good and well made product, very good quality scans. Bundled software is very good. Auto repair works well on colour negs, but its DIY for the poor condition B/W, Oh and the SilverFast software is only set up to recognise the 8200i scanner, so...
Not found any as yet, But a 110 neg holder would have been a nice extra.

excellent dust removal
Silverfast constantly flashes up free upgrades but when you have registered wants payment for the upgrade. Disgraceful!!!

Quality of image, image handling
Totally incompatible with other hardware on my system.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
High quality scans Easy to use once set up Silverfast software intuitive and easy to learn
Watch out for driver conflicts! These WILL stop the scanner linking to the software. My problem was an old wireless printer driver. Worked fine once this driver was disabled, but it was a bit of a fiddle to sort out.

mechanically good
locating slide carriage to the notches is fiddly; basic software good, but Silver Fast is difficult (I use the basic software, then ACDsee to tweak)
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Compact and easy to use
Handling of dust and scratches is TERRIBLE! It is worse than the 8-year old PF3650 for which it was intended to be a replacement. It is not even in the same league as my 4-year old flatbed Epson V700. I have returned it. (I did not compare it on...

Why two software disc's (Yours and Silverfast) please combine them so set up is more simple.
