Plustek MobileOffice D412

The Plustek MobileOffice D412 offers duplex (two-sided) scanning in a portable scanner.

One-button scanning to searchable PDF and other image and text file formats. Portable. Duplex (two-sided) scanning.

No automatic document feeder. Takes up two USB ports on the computer.

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Good hardware, but software isn't great

I tried using the windows software included with the device and couldn't get 600dpi to function, which basically ruined the whole purpose of me buying the thing (I'm scanning very detailed photos that I can't transport). I even hooked it up to linux...

Very light, sturdy, and portable. It's powered entirely by the USB slots on your computer. The autofeed makes putting any size of paper in it easily. Wonderfully easy to scan both sides of a document

Very difficult to get 600dpi scan size to work. 150 for docs and 300 for pictures is the default
