While the scanning element of a multifunction device works fine for many tasks. Sometimes you need the greater functionality provided by s standalone product.
When scanning from the ADF you get a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi with either colour or monochrome documents. Resolution can be increased up to 1200 x 1200 dpi when scanning direct from the glass scanner plate with colour or monochrome. With its feature...

The HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 Flatbed Scanner has a good software suite, and can scan either from its flatbed or 50-sheet ADF.

The Scanjet G3010 which this scanner replaced had a simple one button to push and have the scan sent directly to my printer. A simple copy machine! The 2500 f1 requires me to save the scan and then go to the saved scan file and print the item.

Product performs as expected, which is extremely well, and is very fast. A future enhancement for this device would be a network port (ethernet). That way multiple home computers would be able to access it.

The document feeder did an excellent job of feeding and scanning to pdf some very old legal (11 by 14) documents. The PDF's printed out well on 11 by 14 paper. Scanning some old black & white photos were excellent and fast,
