The HP Scanjet Pro 3000 s2 Sheet-feed Scanner comes with a scan utility that's both capable and easy to use.
Duplex scans. Allows one-step scans to a variety of formats including image PDF, searchable PDF, and Word documents.
Image processing adds substantial time to the raw scan speed, even for scanning to image PDF format.
If the HP Scanjet Pro 3000 s2 were a little faster, it could easily be the desktop scanner to beat. As it is, it offers a lot to like, with excellent OCR accuracy, acceptable speed, and lots of flexibility for creating scan profiles. Keep in mind too...

Pros: Looks, software, easy to clear jams Cons: jams if more than 8 pages are inserted. Scan button on the device itself is tricky for users that don't read the little screen. I work in the health industry and we use hp scanners in our EMR system. we...

I believe that I own the earlier version of this, the units look nearly identical.
Moderately priced scanner that scans both sides of sheet.
No linux support, limited sheet capacity holds 20 sheets of 20lb paper at most. Jams a lot, If your sheets have wear you'll need to run small batches and kind of feed each sheet individually.

Great scanner and does what it was designed to do.
Works great for low to medium use in our healthcare clinic. Twain driver works great with our EHR system. Small footprint is a plus for check-in staff that have limited desk space. I've purchased 6 of these and staff love them. We stick with Fujitsu...
None, just don't forget to turn off auto power off if your staff is using this all day long

Fast, duplex scanner. Very fast in 300 DPI text mode, all other modes (e.g., 400+ DPI, B&W or color image) much slower. It seems the hardware is optimized for a document text scanner. Not a problem, just be aware. One bug: There is a "scan" button on...

got 1 because description had said it was reliable feeder- but it jams badly (pulls 4 pages through at once) if either using legal or 'used' paper vs freshly printed, etc. The vertical feed 'pull from bottom' approach seems to be bad design to me- (my...

I work in a government office and have one of these next to my desktop. It blazes through scans really quickly. The only issue I have had is when I am trying to scan too much and it will grab too many sheets. Really easy to open the cover and remove...

Newegg had the best deal and delivery came within a couple of days. Very impressed.
Excellent Scanner. Easy, hassle free installation as long as you follow the instructions. We chose this unit because it is Mac compatible. We now have 6 units in our office. We highly recommend them.

Really user friendly, lightweight compact doesn't take up much space. Does everything it claims to do. I like it so much that I'm going to order another one.
