A clever film-loading system isn't its only selling point
Scan quality ; Scanning times ; Value for money ; Clever filmstrip loading
The HP 4370 is cheaper ; Some moiré in halftones
Excellent all-round scan quality combined with speedy operation and a great price.

A feature-packed scanner with a built-in adapter for scanning all those slides and negatives you've got sitting in your bottom drawer.
Our test scans came out a bit dark on the automatic settings.

The Epson Perfection 3590 Photo is definitively a photo-centric scanner.
Automatic feeder for 35-mm negatives. Color-restore feature revives old photos. Scans directly to PDF format.
No automatic document feeder (ADF). Scans only one slide at a time.

The Epson Perfection 3590 Photo is a fine choice if you are looking for an inexpensive, entry-level scanner. It did a very good job of capturing detail, but picky photographers might be disappointed with the visible color cast in default scanning modes.
Convenient built-in transparency unit with automatic film feeder ; includes efficient color-restoration software
Colors were a touch on the green side
The 3590 connects to your Mac via USB 2.0. It has a few buttons on the front that allow you to scan directly to PDF, to an e-mail program, or to your default printer. The buttons did work, but I still needed to click a few menu items on my computer's...

None of the USB incompatibilities I previously experienced with a comparable Canon 4200F scanner. The Epson Perfection 3590 Photo scanner produces excellent results and works well with my Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer.
Haven't found any yet.

Good integrated package without separate transparency unit as in previous models.

More quiet than my Umax model but I don't expect Scanners to be silent. So, I'm very pleased plus you know its working...LOL I rate the actually a 4.5 instead of a 5 because of the Negatives being so difficult to manually set settings to get the same...
Fast preview and intelligent scan system. Great for People who like to setup and scan without reading too much of the instructions I suggest you do read the basics but that took 15 minutes. The Automatic Photo(dust, color restore) and ocr touches are...
The Slides are slow in Full Auto mode, Manual Mode is Fast with slides as well. However I tried tweaking so I could just scan manually and got frustrated trying to match the Full Auto mode results so the full auto mode was the only way I could get...
