Epson Perfection review

Epson Perfection

Produces high-quality scans; easy to install; comes with adapters for slides and 35mm or medium-format film; nice price; lets you save scanning presets.

Annoying software package; no manual; scans slowly at highest optical resolution.

The Epson Perfection 3170 scans like a champ--and it's cheap, too.

This scanner is a slow performer, but it's inexpensive and produces nice images.

Good scanner. A little tricky though

I like this scanner. It really gets the job done. It copies at very high detail and very high resolution, so it will accomplish whatever you need. To this day, I don't know what the four buttons on the front do, they seem to work directly with the ...

very high resolution and quality. Very easy to use with XP.

Long worm up periods, sometimes needs to replugged, hard to use with Win98

Too much work *after* the scan

Scans full rolls, not just a few strips.

Frequent misalignment. Prone to jam at the end of a roll. No Digital ICE.

Still looking for film/slide scanning solution.

Having a lot of old slides (mounted) and b/w negative film rolls I was looking for an efficient and versatile 35mm scanning solution. I have a flatbed Canon 5000F with a film strip and mounted slide adapter, but it can't scan rolls of film, besides,...

A Waste of a Good Scan

Good scan. Good price.

Lousy tech support. Lousy software. Can't run in OSX.

A Waste of a Good Scan

It really, really, really, really, really sucks that epson doesn't have an email address to write for tech support. First I have to suffer with the sub-par software, then I send in a check for the OSX driver offer only to have it returned because the...

Good scanner for the price

I bought the Epson Perfection 1250 as an afterthought. The day before I had purchased another scanner which didn't seem to work at all and had to be returned. I did some research and found that most users who bought the Epson were generally pleased...

Easy to install, decent photo editing program, includes slide scanning device.

Epson Perfection 1250: Adequate for the Basic User

I'll be honest here. The reason I bought this scanner is that it cost $20. I love day after Thanksgiving sales.

fast, quiet, support for Windows, Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X

Light on OS X functionality, difficult install, misleading information on support website
