If your small office or workgroup needs to scan up to tabloid-size (11-by-17-inch) originals and even larger, the Canon imageFormula DR-M1060 document scanner is a strong contender.

Handles tabloid (11-by-17 inch) and larger paper. Duplexer. Extraordinarily fast text recognition for scanning to searchable PDF files.

Raw scan speed is slower than the claimed speed in our tests. Speed for scanning to searchable PDF format is uneven on several programs.

If you need to scan at tabloid-size and larger, and need higher-volume scanning than the Canon imageFormula DR-M1060 can handle, you'll be better off with one of the Kodak models. The Editors' Choice Kodak i3250 is the obvious candidate if you need its...
