A wasted opportunity

Easy to use ; fast SCSI interface

Slow, no provision for scanning a strip, NO Windows XP support

A wasted opportunity

Canon had the opportunity to produce and support a film scanner that is well supported and every bit as nice as their camera line. And this scanner does work, and does produce nice scans (albeit not as nice as a much more expensive scanner). Beats...

Great Scanner

Whoever said this is not a great scanner must be using a PC. Personally I use a macintosh and the setup was very easy (fewer steps than the PC and less than one third the instructions). The only scanner within the price range that is 'acceptable' as...

Good price, great scans!

Originally when I was looking for a film scanner that worked with my Mac, I was going to buy the Nikon Coolscan III which cost over $650. A good friend, however, convinced me to buy the Canon, and I haven't looked back since!

easy to use, comes with APS holder as well as regular 35mm negative holder, great scans

installer on CD crashed my Mac, but manual install worked fine.

good buy

I needed a scanner to scan my slides, since it was too expensive to have cibachromes made and scan them on my flatbed. And the quality was not very good either.

scanning software, price, general quality of scans, true 32 bit

not possible to make two-pass scan
