The Canon CanoScan 8800F provides consumers with a solution for all photo archiving needs with the ability to scan up to twelve 35mm slides or negatives at a time, along with standard documents and images. The maximum optical resolution is 4800x9600...

Unlike the various types of printers which tend to arrive without the required USB lead for connecting to the computer, scanners are more fortunate in this respect.
The CanoScan 8800F comes with both power and USB leads. This model has recently taken over the desk space, normally the home of my CanoScan LiDE 90 unit, for the purpose of this review. Decked out in matt silver and reflective black, the CanoScan...

Good quality scans at a fair price Canon's Canoscan 8800F is a traditional flatbed scanner, as opposed to the combined printer-scanners that are more popular nowadays. The reason you might want ...

The Canon CanoScan 8800F flatbed scanner works well on both prints and film.
High-quality scans, particularly for prints. Backlight correction feature. LED light source eliminates warm-up time.
Scratch removal feature has little to no effect. Scans only four slides at a time.

While the CanoScan 8800F proved to be a competent machine, we had to ask how it was more competent than a multifunction device like the Canon MP980 or MP990 and how it compared to more expensive scanners like the Epson V700 or Microtek M1.It's similar...

Canon CanoScan 8800F reviewed by ConsumerSearch, which notes pros and cons, along with reviews and ratings for the Canon CanoScan 8800F and comparisons to other Scanners
Easy to use and fast; Produces high-quality scans overall; Good software bundle; Includes transparency and slide adapters
Slow slide scans; Some scans appear slightly overexposed
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Great style design, works well with other Canon products. fast, quiet with excellent quality of result.
The software was dissapointing. It would have been much more satisfactory if it was the latest Photoshop. Even if it meant an increase in price
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Lightning fast scanning. I have been using scanners since 96, this is the best piece of hardware I have used for scanning
slightly bulky
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
A superb bit of kit for the money. I have used it for all sorts of things, including colour transparencies. It is so much better than my previous scanner that I am having to scan all my transparencies again! It's also extremely fast by comparison.
Haven't found any yet, but I haven't had it for that long.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
It is very sturdy and allows our company to scan card mounted microfilms and larger format transparancies than other products of a similar price and certainly at a fraction of the price of so-called "industrial" products.
