Canon Canoscan 4400F

Ready to produce high-resolution scans of photos, documents, even 35mm film and slides? It's easy. Seven buttons automate the entire scanning process, so it's simple to scan, copy and create e-mails and multi-page PDFs. This smart scanner delivers a...

Great Value

I was having trouble with the front panel buttons not initiating a scan sometimes. This issue seems to have been solved by simply opening the lid of the scanner. I had been scanning the same document over and over using various settings to test image...

Price! Looks brand new. Worked out of the box with drivers and software suite on the cd that came with the unit. Scans look very very good. FAST, even on a 1.8 ghz P4 (albeit with a usb 2.0 addin card). Lots of scanning options. Front panel buttons, 3...

As others have mentioned...glass is smudged on the underside of the glass. Again, doesn't seem to show up in scans though. No network sharing feature! (Yes yes, pie in the sky for $60, I know)

I *love* this scanner

This is a really fantastic scanner - I'm amazed at how great this machine is for its low price point. The scanning quality is excellent and the product feel solid/looks great, but I expect the same is the case for most scanners in this class. However,...

High quality scans, relatively quiet and fast, super-fast preview, solid drivers (on Vista), front-panel buttons, photo segmentation (put multiple photos on the glass and it will separate them into separate images), cover lifts up for notebooks/books,...

Can only reassign some of the front panel buttons, doesn't come with Photoshop Elements

Great scanner for budget

Scan speed is really the only issue, EZ buttons lag a little bit, but everything works as it is supposed to. IF you are on any kind of a budget, but want just the next step up, this is a great purchase. In addition, the new Finale 2009 has been tested...

Excellent photo quality, fairly compact scanner, totally compatible with Finale 2009, EZ-buttons invaluable, CCD optical sensor is the way to go

speed. Full page documents definitely are not the speediest thing in the world, but at this budget, you sacrifice speed for image quality

Cheaper Not Always Better

I had an older HP unit that gave up the ghost after 10 years of use.

No Pros !

Lousy scanner, out of the box would not even scan text documents.

Cheaper Not Always Better

I had an older HP unit that gave up the ghost after 10 years of use. I tried this Canon but it was lousy I got the HP model 4010 and it works great and the unit itself is so much more substantial! I also do like the software New Egg was right on the...

No Pros

Lousy scanner, out of the box would not even scan text documents ; Software is lousy ; The HP software allows you the option to immediately send the scanned image to what ever you have set as the program you want to use to see or work with the image...

Good Solid Performance

I purchased this specifically to scan old family estate pictures, to archive for my 9 siblings to a dvd. It was just what I was looking for. Great picture quality, good retouch, make some old ones look pretty good. Worked out well going through old...

The resolution is just fine. Touch up process works good. Pretty quick to get a good working knowledge of the software bundle. I Like the one touch buttons, set themselves up.

Running it off a 1.0 USB Hub. I will upgrade Soon. A little slow.

Picture Quality is Good. Nice to have a Film Scanner too

Scanner is rather slow, but I am used to more professional scanners. Film Scanning takes 3 minutes per frame. OmniScan OCR Software will only OCR at scan time, will not OCR PDFs
