Canon CanoScan 8400F

When it comes to photos, slides, and film, the Canon CanoScan 8400F shines.

Excellent slide-scan quality for a flatbed scanner. Fast scans. Color-restore feature revives old photos. Scans directly to PDF format.

No ADF. Dust and scratch removal feature doesn't meet our expectations.

Canon CanoScan 8400F

Excellent Scanner. Easy to set up. Lots of features. Especially the film scanning features. I was also impressed at the speed when just doing normal scanning. Overall, very impressed.

Didn't really find any bad points. Long software install I guess (lots of different programs). The film scanning adaptors can be a little finicky. Nothing really.

Goos quality document scans. More fiddly to scan 35mm slides/negatives.

Eggcellent Deal1

I wish they would support other film formats other then just 35mm and 120mm. I would BUY other frames for the other film sizes if they offered them!

I got this just for the Slide/Negative scanning ability. For the most part it does it well. I've been able to scan lots of negatives in at 3200 dpi

It REALLY wants to only scan negatives that fit the supplied frames. This means 35mm and 120mm. If you have negatives from an old Instamatic (remember those?) it can be done, but you either have to cut them into individual frames and place them in the...

Beware!

I bought the 9000f. It stopped working after 18-20 months. You have to question the quality of their products. Their customer service is terrible. I even had dealings with the Dept of Fair Trading and they were still not interested. I have not come...

Excellent

i wanted to scan in my negative of old photos and found this a cheaper way to do it than giving them to a company to do. very very easy to use machine and i use the editing software for lots of other things than the photos and docs i scan in.

easy to use. even my parents in their 60's can use it. scans negatives and phots very well. comes with photostudio editing software which is easy to use.

none for me
