I'm not sure what the earlier software issues were, but they seem to have been overcome. I had this installed and running on my MacBook within a minute or two, using the supplied installation CD and the simple instructions. The scans seem v good quality.

I like to sit out on the back porch in the summer and leave the front door open for ventilation. This alarm is very handy to use and it lets out a very loud alarm if the door is opened at all. A very good item for the price.
