Brother ImageCenter ADS-1500W

The Brother ImageCenter ADS-1500W lets you scan directly to an assortment of cloud services, but only over a Wi-Fi connection to a network.

Optical resolution for the ADS-1500W is 600 pixels per inch (ppi), with a default setting of 300 ppi, which is more than you need for most document scanning. The speed rating for 300 ppi in both color and black and white, is 18 pages per minute (ppm)...

OK option for portable needs, but not for desktop

I bought this instead of the ScanSnap because I felt the need for TWAIN drivers was required - big mistake. Many software programs CAN work with a ScanSnap despite TWAIN drivers. Anyways, this thing has crumpled documents I have fed straight, doesn't...

Fast scanning, decent quality

Not user friendly, crumples pages regularly & jams, requires scanning all the time BACKWARDS

LINUX REVIEW

I tested with Ubuntu 14.04. I will redo this review if I find more of if something changes. This is not a +$500 scanner, it doesn't work like a +$500 scanner but it does a great job once you learn its quirks. Brother has done a great job integrating...

Can be used entirely without a computer ; Very compact and portable ; Works for the most part as advertised ; Works with linux via SANE ; Brother support for LINUX is fairly solid with most of their products and seem to work well and as advertised

Reviews are dead on with the jamming but it is manageable ; Would like to see native receipt software for linux too ; Setup is via the command line OK for me but just because you are a linux user doesn't mean we dont like a GUI ; Cannot initiate scan...

Solid home scanner

I use a larger and much costlier scanner at work and this little scanner compares well for relatively small tasks (250-1000 documents a year) So if you are looking to get the papers cluttering your desk under control and get rid of a backlog of old...

Good quality images and easy to operate. packs away small for storage when not in use. The included PaperPort SE software does an excellent job managing scanned PDFs merging and splitting pages from documents. it works just as well with saved PDFs from...

being a smaller unit the paper guides are small and so more susceptible to skewing/jamming if the guides are not set right or if you try to scan overly wrinkled items, if your documents are wrinkled (or chewed, bad dog!) make sure to feed those ones...

Not very good

Too much hassle taking care of jams and very slow scanning. No advantage over flat bed scanner if it had to be watched over for every scan job for jams and for other feed problems. I returned the scanner after 4 days. Very disappointing, since my other...

Excellent software package. Compact unit. Twain drivers. USB or wireless operation. Scans front and back of page simultaneously.

Slow scanning, jams frequently, skews paper, loses WiFi connection, jams consistently when fed over 5 pages.
