Technisat launches its first Freesat HD receiver with multimedia and streaming thrown into the mix. Is it a Humax-beater?
HD pictures/sound ; Multimedia playback/streaming ; Good multi-satellite support
A little pricey ; No LNB loopthrough ; Interface a bit too grey
With the Metronic Sat HD 100 offering similar multimedia functionality, albeit without streaming, a question mark hangs over the price (it does come with a three-year warranty). However, particularly if you demand more from a Freesat box than just...

A superb solution for its price – if TechniSat ever produces a twin-tuner PVR version, Humax would have serious competition
High-quality picture and sound ; excellent feature set ; stylish build ; good usability
It' ; s only a single-tuner design

It might have only one tuner and no hard drive, but this versatile bargain Freeview HD box is a force to be reckoned with
Superb for the spondoolicks. If TechniSat ever makes a twin-tuner version, the big boys would really start to sweat

As the name suggests, the TechniSat HDFS is a Freesat box, which requires a connection to a satellite dish – but no monthly subscription. It offers free-to-air HD channels as well as a wide range of standard definition material, and supports recording...
If you’re just looking for a reliable, affordable and well-designed Freesat HD box and aren’t overly bothered about recording, the TechniSat HDFS fits the bill like a tailored glove. There’s no better model at the price. TechniSat HDFS is tagged with...

HD Freesat receiver with media playback and networking capabilities
TechniSat's HDFS is a good-looking, reasonably priced device that delivers a decent level of service as far as Freesat TV is concerned, though its networking capabilities aren't quite as fully realised as we'd have liked. It's USP as the only device...

An excellent product. I connected it to my Technisat HD satellite receiver and can now enjoy recorded HD tv programs.

Provided you have a sky ariel this set top box is great and with a external harddrive or a stick is set up to used as a pvr from the same remote control until.
Any hard drive added has to be formatted in fat32 and so it is not compatable with a pc.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)

none yet
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
Easy to install as replacement for old sky digital box
