Sky's latest receiver is a festive dream come true for any HD TV fan
Huge recording memory ; Built-in Wi-Fi ; Excellent AV standards from HD channels
No 'backwards EPG ; No DLNA/USB multimedia playback ; 500GB reserve for 'pushed' programming is too much
here.

Huge 2TB hard drive and now with added Wi-Fi
1.5TB recording space ; In built Wi-Fi ; HD image quality ; Easy to use
On-Demand work in progress ; No 5.1 Dolby Digital over HDMI ; No multimedia file playback ; Clunky search
Sky's box gets Wi-Fi, can store up to 250 hours of HD and looks identical to its predecessor. On-demand has been boosted, the EPG is a snap to navigate and HD looks tremendous. HDMI's still chained to stereo, though.

Improves on the standard Sky box's picture performance, adding real refinement – but the price jump might be a bit too much
Improves on the standard Sky+ box in almost every way
There’s no getting around that price

Sky's revamped HD receiver/PVR is without doubt an essential purchase for those on the satcaster's more comprehensive packages – anyone, for instance, subscribing to its full bouquet of movie channels will surely appreciate its enlarged hard drive.

Sky offers three Sky+ digiboxes. The standard Sky+ box offers 250GB and the Sky+HD box boasts 500GB of storage, allowing you to store up to 185 hours of standard TV or 60 hours of HD/3D telly. If you've had your Sky+ box for a few years the storage...
While 2TB is almost too much storage for the average TV viewer, extra capacity is a big need for many Sky+ users – especially with great new features such as Sky On Demand. The box itself is glossy and compact (although we’re not fans of the too-dark...

Sky's new HD box features built in Wi-Fi, making it the first to finally do away with that annoying network extender Sky had previously required for Wi-Fi based On Demand access.
We like the look of the new Sky boxes. As we say, they are a much slicker affair than previous offerings.
