When it comes to fundamental Freeview HD functionality this PVR is hard to fault.

Sharp TU-T2HR32 review

Given the ability of recent products in the highly competitive Freeview HD box market, there's little here to recommend this mediocre Sharp

Respectable tuners give good picture and recording quality

Some usability issues ; spec looks distinctly inadequate at this price

You can buy much better than this

Sharp TU-T2HR32

As always, the cable and satellite boys have already gone one-up in anticipation of this first batch of Freeview+HD recorders - Sky's added 1TB hard drive models to its HD boxes, and Virgin Media's V+HD has had three tuners for yonks. Lively, colourful...

GUI, HD pictures, speed

Remote, noisy in operation, size of HDD

Lively, colourful pictures from both standard definition and HD channels are an essential part of its allure, but the way it's built around good-looking, easy to use onscreen menus - and the speed of the box itself - makes for an attractive option for...

Poor product best avoided

Fan is extremely noisy, and only cuts out 10 minutes after the unit is turned off. Constant problems with recording, I have lost count of the number of times this item has either failed to record a programme, or part recorded one. Also, it will record...

It works and found all the channels I expected. It was relatively inexpensive given that it records HD.

I am using this as a replacement for a Topfield TF5800PVR which died unexpectedly after many years of loyal service. I am using it with an SD box but got it as we anticipate upgrading to HD at some time. All the reviews seemed to be pretty good so we...

Looks good, intuitive to use and works very well. Nice EPG and menu appearance. Does a very good job upscaling basic SD freeview signal to HD.

Slightly noisy fan, really bright blue LEDs on the front look nice during the day, but can glare watching films in a dark room and can't be turned down or off.

easy to use

curser buttons could be more prominent, no live catch up, seem to record all night when set for 1 programme, blue lights are strong for a bedroom apart from that a good machine

Very good menu system, easy to use.

No clock on display. Also no display of which channel is current. If set to record a current programme while turned on, you cannot put it in standby mode untill recording has finished, unlike the SKY+ box. After using it for about one month, I can say...

Easy setup & menus - Kids use it more than me ( age 10& 7)

The fan is a bit loud when all else in the house is quiet but that would not put me off buying
