Definately Not A TiVo!!!

Choose Satellite Dish wisely . The one I chose is non-refundable due to Neweggs limited warranty , so had to eat the dish . Also To install this yourself you will need to purchase the following if you don't already have one ....

Accepts HD signals very well , looks good , nice menus , good for technical guru's

If you don't already have HD set up in your house , installation can be somewhat bothersome especially if you want to buy your own equipment and install yourself . Definitely not a TiVo Box . Cannot change between receivers 1 & 2 like a tivo can . I...

Save a little money

Good box and love the DVR, wish I had known about the antenna attachment plug is not available on the back of this box and the two

I found that it had a picture as clear as my nonDVR HD receiver. Easy to hook up. Easy to use the record and play features. Love catching all my favorite programs in HD and playing them when I want to see them. It also records a series. Gotta love that.

I found two things I didn't know. It has two tuners. That means you need two cables coming from your outside dish. On my non-DVR HD receivers I only needed one cable. You will get a 771 error if you don't have the other cable connected and working....

Mostly very good

Very happy with Directv service. Picture is awesome with HD. This receiver has some issues but overall a good choice. In fact, possibly your only choice of hardware with Directv HD DVR.

HD is outstanding from Directv. Hooked up to a 42" Philips LCD 1080p TV. Standard definition looks good too. Menu interface is excellent. Very easy to set up recordings. Haven't tried the remote programming thru phone or web yet.

Remote is very unresponsive. Sometimes I have to hit the buttons two or three times to get to respond and then it remembers the previous commands. Very frustrating. I did not have this problem when using same receiver with my SD TV before we got the...
