Yamaha RX-V465 5.1 Home Theater Receiver Preview

Yamaha's RX-V465, with its price of just $299.95 makes it one of the least expensive ways to get into an HDMI-equipped AV receiver. The receiver has four HDMI inputs, each which captures HD audio.

Yamaha RX-V465

Overall, the Yamaha RX-V465 is a tough contender in the receiver market, primarily because it offers excellent audio quality, features, and capabilities for a reasonable price. With easy, multi-source switching (including HDMI), Bluetooth and iPod...

Easy setup- YPAO auto-calibration system makes setup a breezeQuality- excellent audio quality thanks to built-in HD decodingPowerful ports- includes HDMI, composite, component, and audio portsCompatible- works great with optional Bluetooth, iPod, and...

Cons- response sometimes slow, poor remote, confusing manual

The great thing about the RX-V465 is that it provides powerful 5-channel...

Best bang for your buck!

I researched a long time to find the best receiver for my budget, and this is it. The V565 is also nice, but i had no need for 7.1 so this was a great buy!

This receiver has an impressive list of features for the price. When you take the time to start messing with the features it will blow you away. Free ipod dock included with purchase!! Great deal

Instruction manual isn't the greatest, some level of tech savvy is needed but really not difficult

Great Value!

Lots of ways to plug all my stuff in! Set up was super easy. Shipping was super quick, maybe just about 2 or 3 days. VERY good price

This is my first new receiver so I don't know what to compare it to

Very nice

upgraded from a 1999 model JVC 500w receiver that still sounds good, moving it upstairs.

Sounds great, very programmable, links up with my Sharp 52" LCD just fine

no OSM, remote is very 80's

Overscan

It's a receiver

Causes overscan on my Westinghouse TV when fed with 1080p HDMI signal. Same signals passed directly to TV work just fine (PC and Xbox360)

YAMAHA 5.1-Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver RX-V465

Awesome product, works great just as it should. This reciever is powerfull enough to power some good floor standing speakers if you wanted to. I use only satilite speakers however and don't use it to the full potential. The remote is very well laid...

Great Budget HD Receiver

My rx-V465 powers a Klipsch HD 300 surround speaker system (just the sats) and a Polk PSW-110 sub. I've got a Dish Network VIP 612 HD DVR and a PS3 Slim 120gb connected via HDMI. The HDMI output is connected to an LCD TV.

4 HDMI inputs, Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master decoding, YPAO speaker calibration, great speaker setup options, ipod dock compatible, 3.5mm audio jack for other mp3 players ; For what it is - a 5.1 HD Receiver, it does its job wonderfully. Clean, strong...

No cons - I bought this for my bedroom. I have an rx-V663 in the living room HT w/ iPod dock, so I knew the features that would be available / missing before hand on the 465 - no surprises/disappointments

Made in China.

I owned an older model yamaha 5230 that was made in malaysia and it seemed like a sturdier build than this reciever. I am in my late 20's so believe me when I say this new unit is not the quality I am used to from yamaha. I had a subwoofer from jbl...

Wolf in sheeps clothing, has every accessory and more than my older model yamaha reciever had. Nicely packaged. I imagine it puts out some good sound but how long will this unit last is a big question mark. I will say however buying a separate reciever...

Lower quality in every aspect. I turned the volume and could feel cheap thin plastic. The first thing I checked was where it was made and to my horror it was made in china. This unit has 0.9%THD older units had 0.6% I know from car audio experience...

Excellent Receiver for Our Needs

Newegg continues to rock. I research whatever it is that I need, from cameras to hard drives to receivers, then start shopping. 9+ times out of 10 newegg has what I'm looking for and has the best price or close to it. Response times, email notices,...

My wife LOVES the SCENE buttons! She's quite technology literate but doesn't want to deal with a lot of technology to watch TV or a DVD. With the SCENE button she has one click on the receiver remote and one or two on the cable box's remote. There is...

No S-Video inputs! What's up with this? Our aging CRT TV has an S-Video input but no digital so I had to revert to component video output for the TV ; No on-screen-display. Kinda weird on an A/V receiver, but I knew that going in, so I guess it's only...
