No high-end codec support

The Sony STR-DH520 is a reasonable choice for an entry-level A/V receiver, and its inclusion of 3D play-through is useful for anyone setting up a cheap 3D home theatre.

running everything through the receivers' brillant, got surround sound on all my gadgets now, not just my dvd player and still got room for more and the extra 2 speakers to boot. It's not the most expensive av receiver and could have got one 7.2, but...

just a small point, got to buy an active subwoofer, my passive won't work on the system.
