Onkyo TX-SR707

The easy to use menus and auto speaker calibration of the TX-SR707 do give it a leg up in standing amongst other AV receivers. It is relatively well designed in terms of usability, though visually it won't stand out too much. With the added benefit of...

Terrible Product!

It's amazing just how many customers commented on just this site alone about this very same issue of short term life for this product. I hope each and every buyer here makes it their goal to let everyone know what a terrible product this company...

New Egg always does a great job, and is in no way responsible for the quality or longevity of this product ; This product will work great for approximately 24 to 30 months - not much more to say about it after that

Onkyo should be ashamed of themselves - my system lasted exactly 24 months, which locked me out of any aupport or warranty replacement (thankfully I bought mine on sale)! If Onkyo cared about its customer base, they would have communicated the issue...

Sound / No Sound

Hdmi sound returns if you unplug it momentarily or reset the receiver( press and hold TV/VCR button and press the on/off button - THIS WILL CLEAR ALL SETTINGS). Bought it in Nov 09 and by Sept 12 had to unplug almost daily to restore HDMI sound. When...

Awesome features. Pass through (HDMI source pass through to TV when in stby ex. cable/sat source selected turn off receiver(stby) video passes to TV and sound is then played through TV speakers) works with any HDMI source ; Onkyo agreed to fix know...

HDMI handshake issues(audio cuts out for a second then returns - rare but annoying) will change listening mode on its own ; no sound (HDMI video but without sound) after 2.75 years ; Would have bought the 907 had i know this model had issues

Great till it lasted

I understand there is a "bad" economy, but Onkyo should pay attention what is going on around. There are so many upset customers having same issue and nothing is done. Car-makers at least issuing a recall. Onkyo - do you want to keep you fans or not?

Great sound, 7.2 channels, pre-amp outputs

As many other complaining, this unit dies just around 2 years of use. No Sound from speakers and no "switch clicking". Contacted for repair in another state and after 2 month I got it fixed, however it did no last long. In about 3 month the receiver...

Great..up until 23 months.

awesome sound, multiple speaker options, THX cert. dual sub outlets. 7.2 while zone 2 is playing. Loved it until, see cons

Like many other owners after 18-24 months, receiver randomly lost complete sound on start up. Eventually no more sound. This unit is no longer in production and it seems onkyo should do a recall but no word from them

Excellent Mid-range HT Receiver

Excellent receiver. Well worth the money at its discounted price. THX certified, sounds amazing, great remote, tons of features. You really can't go wrong with this. Just remember, high powered receivers run a bit warm. This is normal. Give it an inch...

The sound quality. Hooked up to speakers from Ascend Acoustics (CMT-340SEs) + Sony Sub, this receiver really makes them shine. Sound reproduction is dynamic and articulate, and the clarity and quantity of sound this receiver can put out is exceptional...

This receiver does get a little warm. With about 2 inches of clearance from the shelf, the top of the receiver after 6 hours of reference level, 85dB (+20dB overhead) listening is probably around 100->110 degrees Fahrenheit. This is warm, but not...

Awesome Amp

Just might be "forced" to buy another of these for our bedroom setup.

The Onkyo replaced an old Pioneer THX fried by a lightning hit. I hooked the unit up quickly as I needed to get a satellite receiver back on line after its replacement and hadn't run Audyssey. It will work without running the EQ program but this...

The Manual: Buried somewhere in the back is the fact that you don't get the on-screen setup info if you're not using a high def TV. Not a big deal, you can use the remote to do all of the speaker set up but it would be handy to see the cues & info on...

Great reciever

Purchased this along with 2x 5 packs of Energy "Take 5" speakers (10 total speakers) and a Yamaha SW315 powered sub.

Best receiver I have ever owned. Video support is everything I needed. Audio quality is excellent. Supports a library of audio codecs. Supports up to 11 speakers (1 zone only) in 7.1 mode. Some other reviews mentioned a heat issue, I haven't seen it...
