Comparing to different brand items, at similar cost, this thing blows them out of the water! I've tested Dennon, Marantz, and Yamaha within +200$ of this price range, and I really felt this one will get you the best bang for your buck. Tons of HDMI...

Jaw dropping performance and at insane price
This replaced a $2500 Arcam receiver that was 11 yrs old and my only regret is the Arcam didn't break sooner.
Sound and Video quality is superb. Power is impressive. Switching is fast.
Zone 2 will only send out an analog source. So I connected a zone 2 speaker to the center channel for dialog to hear tv in the other room.

Onkyo's Rock!
Onkyo has been building electronics since the early 40's, and nobody puts power supplies, transformers or heat-sinks like they do.
The sound and power from Onkyo is crystal clear and raw. This is the third A/V receiver I have had. The first was purchased in Circuit City's infancy and gave me many, many hours, but had no HDMI ports. I have a TX-NR709 that developed a sound problem....

budget theater gets upgrade
great receiver, replaced my yamaha v475. Only added atmos speakers but the onkyo sounds much richer and fuller than the yamaha with same speakers. Onkyo android app is nice also
Easy to setup sounds great features
The 646 has 2nd monitor option, didn't need it but its available so might as well use it. I use a 2nd monitor for my laptop so i hooked receiver up to the monitor as well, receiver handicaps hdmi output on both monitors when i change the hdmi input...
