Excellent range of features, good number of inputs, powerful universal remote control included

Substandard on-screen display, lacks HDMI or DVI output

Another excellent AV receiver from Harmon Kardon, easy to use with a wide range of features and a slick design.

Performance

Harman/Kardon AVR 635

Great sound; full autosetup and room equalization; Dolby Headphone processing; bass management covers SACD/DVD-Audio inputs; A/V-sync delay can compensate for "slow" flat-screen displays.

Expensive; the EzSet/EQ autosetup isn't so easy; flimsy top cover; no phono input.

Harman's captivating A/V receiver delivers high-end sound.
