Performance

Denon AVR-3805 (black)

A 7.1-channel receiver; high-end style and feel; graphic-display remote; all-digital hookup for compatible Denon SACD/DVD-A players; turntable input; versatile surround speaker switching.

The included superslick universal remote may be too advanced for its own good.

Audiophiles craving the very best sound and cutting-edge features will find everything they need in Denon's AVR-3805.

Denon AVR-3805 Receiver Review

The Denon AVR-3805 is an impressive all-around receiver. With the ability to bi-amp the main channels, full customization over your speaker configuration, and more, this receiver is highly recommended

DENON Link 3rd Edition ; Component video up-conversion with OSD ; Three (3) HDTV-compatible component video inputs ; Can bi-amp front speakers for 240 wpc (5.1 only) ; Bass output in 2-channel direct mode ; Lip Sync delay ; Can monitor video other than...

Auto Setup doesn’t set crossover point ; No IEEE 1394/Firewire interface ; Aggressive Room EQ (boosts up to +9 dB) ; No digital sources output to Zone 2/3

Denon AVR-3805

There is something about the new range of AV receivers hitting the market today, they just seemed to have stepped it up a notch in performance and are forever pushing the "bang for the buck" boundary

Denon's latest high-mid priced offering (is that an oxymoron?) is a stunner. Feature packed, great sounding and a great looking piece of gear to go with it

Denon AVR-3805, review

Being a recent convert to the joys of Denon, I have to admit it feel's a little odd having the ‘competition' in my setup. My interest in the line really started with the addition of an AVR-3802 to my system. It got me thinking this is a decent piece of...

All of the receivers I reviewed for this roundup have learning/preprogrammed remotes, but Denon's backlit blue-membrane remote is the coolest of the bunch. It glows when you pick it up. Touch a source, and the screen layout changes to reveal controls...

Did I set the sub-out level too high before running the auto setup? No, the level I'd chosen manually was only a half-decibel higher than what the auto-setup program chose. Quality-not quantity-of bass was the problem. Denon's room EQ solved it neatly....

MATURE MONSTER

a huge step up over the 500 crowd this justifies the extra outlay in stereo and multichannel listening, impossible to upset it. cd, dvd a, sacd, dvd, it does a great job with them all.

stereo is excellent or a av receiver.operation is fuss free. real power on all fronts. great build

unusual remote. no sleep function. yamahas have better menus ; Update 17/04/06] volume via remote can run away with itself

A GOOD PERFORMER WHICH LACKS WARMTH

A good reciever loaded with numerous features in this price range. But it lacks warmth and authority in Center and front speakers

Excellent processor, Good Stereo, Lots of usable features
