Denon AVR-2803

Beautiful sound; seven 90-watt channels; A/B-speaker switching; Dolby EX/DTS ES/DTS 96/24-surround processing; SACD/DVD-Audio input; component-video switching; two-zone operation; two-year parts-and-labor warranty.

No front-panel A/V inputs.

Denon's most affordable seven-channel receiver doesn't shortchange the sound.

Denon AVR-2803 A/V Receiver Reviewed

This model offers an eight-channel analog input for SACD/DVD-Audio sources. While listening to music on the AV-2803 was "pleasing," listening to films was superb. Our reviewer noted that "Surround effects sprang to life and the soundstage was...

Denon AVR-2803

January 2004 Denon AVR-2803 AV receiver. $2299 It seems strange somehow, starting near the top of the food chain and working my way down, but that is what has happened over past months with Denon receivers. My reviewing of Denon's product started with...

Only individual user preferences can determine if it is worthwhile upgrading from 6.1 to 7.1, but if you are in the sub-$3000 market for a home theatre receiver and you don't want to sacrifice enjoyment of two-channel audio, find one of these and give...

Denon AVR-2803 A/V Receiver and DVD-2900 Universal Disc Player

When you boil it all down, you realize that most format wars are somewhat ridiculous. Sure, it's fun to get the blood up every few years, and those of us in the A/V press certainly appreciate the opportunity to ramble on about these conflicts' various...

Receivers, Tuners, and Integrated Amps: Audio/Video Receivers: Denon AVR-2803

Picking up where Denon's AVR-1803 (a Best Buy in Issue 48) left off, the 90Wpc AVR-2803 raises the ante with seven channels of amplification, added power, DTS 96/24 decoding, and HD-ready 100MHz-bandwidth component-video inputs. It employs 96k/24-bit...

STYLE AND POWER - PURE DENON

Not cheap, but worth every penny for quality, aesthetics, ease of use, and liekyl reliability (I've not had it more than 6 months so far, so that's just my guess from other Denon experience).

The 2803 has real power, and pure sound quality on both music and film. The build is pure Denon - synonymous with quality in my experience. Also plenty of features, and the remote is easy to use.

Hmm, will have to get back to you on that one.
