Works well and has an adjustment for gain. I don't think the bandwidth (1 GH) is not suitable for Direct TV since I noticed that the amp used on my Direct TV is rated for 2 GH.

Overall the unit works well. It arrived with a stuck button, the result of a dislodged spring. Once I fixed the spring the unit worked excellent. I only use it as a Toslink audio switch. Note that the battery for the remote died rather quickly.
