Can Xgimi's unique optical technology set a new projector standard?
Exceptionally bright and colourful ; Appealing and unusual design ; Good built-in audio system
Smart system is messy ; Pictures sometimes look a bit OTT ; Design could be divisive
Xgimi’s ingenious laser/LED lighting combi looks set for a bright future – once the wrinkles have been ironed out

Dolby Vision and painless setup make the Xgimi Horizon Ultra 4K projector something of a home cinema winner
Simple setup with lots of image control ; Bright, long-life light source ; Generally excellent 4K image quality ; Built-in Android TV
No official Netflix support on Android TV ; No HDMI 2.1
A fantastic and flexible 4K projector with refreshingly fuss-free operation

This home cinema projector takes XGIMI's HORIZON range to new heights. A 4K resolution model, its proprietary light engine combines cutting-edge contrast and sharpness with vivid brightness and colour detail.

The Xgimi Horizon Ultra delivers 4K resolution and Dolby Vision support, an uncommon set of features that makes it an excellent home entertainment projector.

The XGIMI Horizon Ultra is a 4K long-throw projector that looks nice and runs Android TV -- it's also the first projector with Dolby Vision.
Dual lighting sources ; 2300 lumens with adaptive output ; Loud, virtual surround speakers ; First long-throw Dolby Vision projector ; LED and Laser sources have long lifetimes vs. bulbs
No native Netflix certification ; Expensive ; 2GB of RAM is on the low side

The XGIMI HORIZON Ultra packs in a Harman/Kardon sound system and 4K Dolby Vision in a small and attractive package.
Fantastic design, stylish and looks great in any space ; Fantastic build quality and materials ; Really great brightness, it was better than I expected ; Colors and display are excellent ; Easy setup, auto key and autofocus features are fantastic tools...
Android TV is no bueno, easily fixed with a streaming box ; Needs at least one more HDMI port ; Struggles in sunlit rooms, but this is normal for projectors ; Speakers are OK and thankful they added something, but you will be better served with a soundbar
If you’re in the market for an excellent long-throw projector with 4K Dolby Vision, then the XGIMI HORIZON Ultra is a no-brainer. Even with its few minor flaws, which may not even matter to some, this is worth it.

Can an inexpensive projector really live up to the Dolby Vision standard?
Bright, vivid colors with excellent uniformity ; Support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG ; Built-in Android TV (with some limitations) ; Impressive Harman Kardon sound system ; Attractive, living room-friendly design ; Easy, automated setup process ;...
Native contrast and black levels fall short of more expensive 3LCD and LCOS-based projectors ; Some initial lag and slow interface (mostly resolved with firmware update) ; Limited app support on Android TV (Netflix not natively installed) ; High...

The Xgimi Horizon Ultra is bright and colorful and gorgeously designed, but it's held back by contrast and HDR issues.
comparable price, the Horizon Ultra is just one I’d say to pass on.

The XGIMI Horizon Ultra is a beautifully designed projector with proper brightness and colour. Now I just need access to a trust fund...
Stunning, classy design ; Bright and sharp image ; Good speakers
[looks at price, cries]
The XGIMI Horizon Ultra is the fanciest projector I've ever used, and unless you are a boutique cinema manager, the same will apply to you. Producing a crisp and bright 4K image, with the Harman/Kardon speakers adding unreasonably good sound for native...
