Optoma HD66 DLP 3D Projector Review

The Optoma HD66 is a 3D ready projector for $700. It features 720p resolution and has tons of setup features, a full suite of calibration controls, great color, and decent black levels.

Price ; Great plug and play performance ; 3D Ready

Auto-source sometimes doesn't give enough time for HDCP ; No component input or breakout box ; No backlight on remote ; Needs user adjustment to look good

The Optoma HD66 is a DLP offers a 720p video resolution and lots of lumens in a small, compact package.

Smooth motion; Good color accuracy in Movie mode

Poor brightness in Movie mode; Not much flexibility in positioning

Wait, don't die yet!

It had the rainbow effect common to DLP, but I rarely notice unless I'm watching movies with subtitles where my eyes flicker a lot more. The dying pixels are deeply depressing. I myself can adapt but it sure will be obnoxious to any friends we've...

Man I enjoyed this projector while it lasted. Its super bright, I've been able to adjust the colors to get white on even colored walls, its tiny, and the throw is huge. Currently have it calibrated to a 91' projection screen, but had it about a foot...

NO HORIZONTAL KEYSTONE: Upon purchase I found I was upset it only had vertical keystoning. I previously owned a projector that had horizontal keystoning so you could set the projector off to the side instead of finding a place directly centered across...

Great Projector!

This is the first projector I have ever bought. After 18 months it still runs great and I get lots of compliments of how good the picture looks even at such a large size (120"-130"). I play xBox, watch Blu-Rays, and normal television and it's...

Great price ; HD Quality Picture ; Low Noise

An image burnt into the picture, but you only see it when you fire up the projector. When the projector gets fully turned on the picture goes away and it isn't an issue

Great Projector, one complaint...

Only complaint is the Source scanning. First DVD I played was probably slightly damaged. If the image became unstable for the slightest moment, the projector would go to rescan for sources. Had the same thing happen with my Western Digital WD TV when...

Great picture, poor audio output

Happy with it so far. I will have to split the sound out from the source because the audio output on the projector sounds like the internal speaker on a desktop computer. Very low quality. Everything else does what it's supposed to do, but you better...

Great projector

No issues with the product. Amazing resolution. Cannot really tell the difference between my 1080p TV and this 720p projector.
