Marantz VP-15S1 DLP Projector

Marantz flexes its lesser-known projector arm and comes up with the pricey yet impressive VP-15S1.

There's no denying that the Marantz 15S1 isn't cheap at the best part of six grand, and I'd also have to question if its extra colour intensity is enough to justify it costing £1,500 more than JVC's HD100. But for now, at least, it can proudly call...

Marantz VP-15S1 review

With its punchy picture, ease of set-up, sharp edges and lack of noise, this Marantz is an obvious five-star buy

Combines incredibly sharp and detailed pictures with very punchy whites and an impressive black performance ; creates pictures with real sense of depth

Colours are ever-so-slightly on the pale side of neutral ; £6000 is pretty expensive

The ’15S1 offers a truly stellar performance – it’s the one to get if money’s not a concern

Marantz VP-15S1 review

Marantz pushes DarkChip3 projection to the max with its latest Full HD projector

Remarkable clarity and accuracy ; excellent build quality ; great processing

Heavy ; six-segment colour wheel may produce rainbow effect

It's weight could be an issue for some, but the stunning image quality will win you over

Passion is what drove me to become a videoholic. I love good quality video - be it HDTV or high definition DVD. It doesn't matter if the subject matter is retarded African pigmy elephants, a great

Excellent build quality ; No real-world rainbow effect ; Excellent remote ; Best-of-class Gennum VXP video processing ; Custom optics with long-throw lens option

Expensive for single-chip DLP ; No horizontal lens shift

Marantz VP-15S1 1080p HDTV Projector Reviewed

While Marantz may be more well known for their audiophile heritage and electronics they do make some fine front projectors, which include the VP-15S1 reviewed here by Home Theater reviewer, Brian Kahn. Read up on his findings and see how the VP-15S1...

The custom Konica lens, coupled with the 1080p DC4 DLP chip provides a razor-sharp image ; The Gennum processor, as modified by Marantz, provides excellentvideo processing, including scaling, vertical stretch andde-interlacing ; The VP-15S1 can...

The fan noise can be intrusive during quiet scenes or duringaudiophile listening that also includes video, such as when you areusing your music server and its video interface for a music listeningsession ; The amount of heat produced by the projector,...

Marantz's VP-15S1 offers stellar performance at a reasonable price. Theserious videophile may notice that the VP-15S1's low light detail orcolor accuracy suffers slightly in comparison to the more expensiveVP-11S2, but the VP-15S1's performance in...

Marantz VP-15S1 DLP Video Projector

Priced at $20K, the 11S1's aim was nothing short of best of the best pure performance. But the bigger trend in front projection over these last couple of years has been toward cutting corners and hitting lower price points. Enter the VP-15S1.

Marantz VP-15S1 DLP Video Projector

Marantz' VP-11S1 was the first 1080p DLP front projector I reviewed, and while many less expensive 1080p projectors have come through the doors since then, none has matched that projector's all around performance. I liked it so well I put my money...

Superb resolution, Terrific blacks and contrast, First rate video processing, Natural colors, Outstanding user interface

Price (a little, not a lot), Light output still not as strong as competing PJs

The Marantz VP-11S1 was our projector of the year in 2006, and impressed me enough to buy it to use as a reference. The VP-15S1 adds some impressive new wrinkles that improve on the 11S1's performance in some key respects, and does so at half the...
