InFocus ScreenPlay 4805

Few will be taken with its utilitarian lines, but inside the ScreenPlay 4805 you'll find a Texas Instruments DarkChip2T DLP engine. This provides a st...

Great contrast ratio, no real flyscreen effect

Quite pricey, playback usually has to be re-sampled, noisy

The ScreenPlay 4805 is capable of producing perfectly acceptable images, but is let down seriously by intrusive image conversion artefacts. There are better projectors available, and for less money.

InFocus ScreenPlay 4805

The ScreenPlay 4805 has its limitations, but all up it represents very good value compared to many other so-called entry level projectors on the market.

Packs good specifications at a true entry-level price point ; Fairly good output in daylight conditions

No lens shift makes set-up more challenging than it ought to be ; Picture underwhelming with analog input

The resolution at 854 x 480 is slightly better than its ScreenPlay 4800 predecessor, but it's on the low-end of HD standards. The resolution does look a bit rough when you hook up via an analog connection to a standard free-to-air TV broadcast. There...

Infocus ScreenPlay SP4805 Projector Review

The Infocus SP4805 projector is rated 750 lumens in full power mode, and 600 in economy. Contrast (a critical spec) is rated at 2000:1 which is low by today's standards for DLP home theater projectors. Resolution is WVGA (854x480) which is typical of...

The InFocus Screenplay 4805 home theater projector, is, as mentioned, a WVGA projector with 854x480 resolution, which is typical of all the entry level DLP projectors. As such, its pixels are larger than higher resolution projectors. We found that to...

InFocus Screenplay 4805

Very good color out of the box, and better with minor tweaking ; Overall image very dynamic with good "depth ; Fast (4x) six segment color wheel prevents most from seeing rainbow effect ; Extended hours tech support from InFocus ; Multiple gamma...

Very noisy compared to most competing projectors ; Contrast levels lower than newer DLP projectors (still better than the LCD home theater models), resulting in loss of detail in dark areas ; Menus are somewhat dark. It's easy to read the selected...

In fact, the InFocus Screenplay 4805 projector is still one of the better low cost projectors out there, with advantages over several competing current model projectors, it just isn't quite up to the best and newest

InFocus ScreenPlay 4805

About this time last year, I had my first experience with Infocus and a DLP projector in the form of the Infocus Screenplay 4800

Twelve months later we have another offering from Infocus, the Screenplay 4805. Coincidentally, Infocus have also recently released the X2, the replacement for the X1. This time round, there can be no mistaking the significant differences between the...

InFocus Screenplay 4805 review

The InFocus Screenplay 4805 at $1,499 is easily one of the most eagerly anticipated DLP projectors among budget minded, home theater enthusiasts. With a Native 16:9 Resolution of 854 x 480 (EDTV) and powered by a new chipset from Texas Instruments the...

Review: InFocus Screenplay 4805

At a retail price of just $1499, the Screenplay 4805 is Infocus' current offering in the economy range of home theater and home entertainment projectors. Though it has a few incidental flaws, it delivers a beautiful, very high contrast image for the...

THE CHEAPEST AND BEST WAY TO WATCH FILMS

TAKE THE TIME TO SET UP THIS PROJECTOR, AND FILM NIGHT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. GRANNY WILL LOVE THE CARTOON COLOURS' ASWELL, I KNOW MINE DOES. AS OF THIS DATE 16/10/05 IT SHOULD COST ABOUT 800 NEW.

GIVE IT A DVI SIGNAL FOR THE PICTURE (1080) FROM A DENON 2910 WITH THE CABLE FROM INFOCUS, AND I GAURENTEE YOU WILL NEVER WATCH A FILM ON T.V. AGAIN. ALSO, QUITE EASY TO USE ONCE SET UP

YOU CAN HEAR THE FAN NOISE IN THE BACKGROUND DURING REALLY QUIET PARTS OF FILMS, BUT ANY SOUND FROM THE FILM e.g. MUSIC, TALKING OR ACTION WILL DROWN IT OUT, NO PROBLEM.
