Epson MovieMate 72

The Epson MovieMate 72 brings 720p high definition to an instant-theater projector.

Instant theater with 720p projector. Integrated DVD player. Integrated stereo audio system. Output for subwoofer.

Doesn't deal properly with 1,280-by-720 computer input. ; Watch the Epson MovieMate 72 Video Review!

Epson MovieMate 72

Sure enough, the Epson MovieMate 72 is a definite cut above any of the other all-in-one projectors I've reviewed. This Epson offers picture quality that is, at least comparable with many of the stand alone home theater projectors that compete with it...

Very bright (over 500 lumens in best mode, and over 1600 in brightest) ; True 720p resolution - a first for all-in-one projectors ; On board DVD player that can also play video CD's, standard CD's and music files ; Very good color balance "out of the...

User manual comes only on disc (hard copy too, would be better) ; Mediocre black level performance ; Remote is not backlit ; Menu features scattered from multiple buttons on remote ; No fine tuning R,G,B controls for tweaking color ; Not as much "pop"...

I really like the MovieMate 72. That said, my 15 year old daughter, who tells me she needs one, won't be getting one for the holidays. Afterall, I have two rooms already set up with projectors. That said, this is a product that under other...

Review: Epson MovieMate 72 projector

The Epson MovieMate 72 is a cool, all-in-one, home-theater projector that features high-definition 720p resolution, high-quality integrated speakers, and a built-in up-converting DVD player.

720p high-definition capable; integrated, up-converting DVD player; very good audio quality from built-in speakers; USB port for displaying photos from a thumb drive

No DVI port; no automatic keystone correction; no automatic focus

The box is split horizontally into two sections, with all of the ports and the integrated speakers located in the bottom section; the projection portion is located in the larger, upper half. The two sections can line up seamlessly, if preferred, but...

EPSON MOVIEMATE 72 LCD PROJECTOR

works great, very good picture, easy to set up

not enough sound from the built in speakers. There is no audio out connection but you can add speakers if you get a special cable to connect from the headphone jack. it only cost about $5.00 from the local electronic store

EPSON MOVIEMATE 72 LCD PROJECTOR

After experimenting with different analog speakers attached to a PA System, I found that I needed computer speakers with the mini plug that plugs into the head set plug. The ones that I found with a separate volume control are a small pair of Bose...

EPSON MOVIEMATE 72 LCD PROJECTOR

For aesthetic affects, I used a large (California King) bed sheet and put it up against our outside wall. It worked great! Unless you intend to use an external 5/1 speaker system or the self-contained speakers in the projector, I recommend using Bose...

I found no inconsistencies in what was represented from the manufacturer and what I received. I used it for the first time this past weekend (4/26/08) and everybody loved it
