The built-in speaker it not useful. Yet, for me it does not matter. I hook up the sound to a receiver by a Fiber Optic cable or have an audio extractor to get sound from the HDMI cable to a Fiber Optic cable.

I bought this with the intention of playing movies on the living room wall and outside on the side of the house in the summer. The projector has a nice picture and is simple to set up. Very bright picture
