Acer PH530

Because this is the busiest time of my review year, and I'm squeezing the Acer PH530 into the lineup, this review won't be as long as the typical home theater projector review. I also took less photos as well. Still, you should all find it sufficiently...

Lowest cost 720p projector at the time of this review (10/07) ; Very compact size ; A touch quieter than the average DLP home projector ; Easy to adjust to get good color balance for movies - D65 (6500K)

A slightly soft image (sharpness) ; No backlight on remote control, which seems to be an adapted business projector remote ; User memory - cannot support more than one setting, a real problem if you want (need) a custom setting for movies in the dark,...

The value proposition of the PH530 is simple. If you want a 720p projector, and this is all you can afford, by all means, go for it. Despite the issues raised, it does produce a very acceptable picture to watch.

Very Nice

only inputs options are VGA, Composition, RGB, USB, and HDMI. There are four viewing options, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, and another annoying one. 16:9 will fit pretty much any screen at any distance, 4:3 you have to be really close to specific distance (for 8 ft...

i have my screen set up with 16:9 ratio about 13 feet from the screen and it shows regualar 4:3 TV as 8' wide by 36" tall respectively. extremely clear Movie and Computer input

Very Hot, this little lgith weight guy increases the temperature of my entire downstairs by about 5 Degrees. I a little fuzzy for TV, very clear for movies and computer input. Zoom is alright, but when used makes entire picture annoyingly pixeled (I...

VGA troubles

Only took 1 egg away because i am using integrated video on a G33 e6750 @ 3.4 ghz 4gb ram. It displays fine on all other monitors, but maybe the projector works different. guess i will mess with more settings later.

The display is great! 6x color wheel means no rainbow effect (which i notice on 4x, but this is a by person deal). 1 of every connection

Lot louder then i thought it would be. Kinda a hassel since "My Chair" is about 2 ft from the unit. Also i can't get the VGA to work correctly. It doesn't display accuratly it cuts the left 5% of the screen off if i try to do a 16x9 resolution

Great Deal

This is by far the best deal in a 720p DLP projector. Yes, there are clearer, brighter, and higher resolution projectors out there, but replacement bulbs for them are more than this projector.

720p Native Resolution - Huge Picture - Great Color - Quiet - Simple to Use - Color is great right out of the box, adequate and simple controls, economy mode is still bright enough for most uses. I have it about 13 ft. away from a 100" screen and it...

No sound. This is only an issue for use as a portable projector, as you will normally use your laptop's speakers (business) or hook your DVD player up to your stereo (home use). Also, its zoom is limited, so you have to place it close to the ideal...

WOW

a little short on red, needs a tiny boost in the settings (R=102/G=100/B=100), I'm projecting about 75-80" size on a wall and it looks amazing from all angles. (my 82" HDTV draper diploamat projection screen is arriving in a few days).

bright, crisp and clear life-like picture, wonderful colors, I'm satisfied with the blacks, good separation between blacks & grays, very easy to setup, manual focus works like a charm, small and light, the fan is off 98% of the time and the projector is...

could be packaged slightly better. wish it was 1080p native like my hanns g 28" lcd

Awesome Deal

This thing really does turn your room into a theater. The sheer size of the screen projected onto my wall really makes me feel like I'm in a movie theater. I would highly recommend this projector as an alternative to anyone who is currently looking at...

This thing is extremely easy to set up. It has a large variety of inputs and automatically detects things when you plug them in and turn them on. I have this thing projecting onto my wall, and my wall has a couple good scratches on it. Even so, when...

Same downsides as any other projector out there. Picture is not as good when there's more light (during the day), and blacks aren't as good as a normal TV

AMAZING

I would buy this projector again and i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a projector. I have it hooked to a media center computer for TV and XBOX 360 for gaming. I also have a 56" 1080p T.V. and I find myself watching my projector more.

AMAZING picture! This projector has a very amazing picture for such a low cost. The picture is bright and very clear. It projects HDTV very well and the HDMI is the way to go. I just can't say enough. If you have ever dreamed of a home theatre this...

Very nice projector

Crystal clear picture, bright, good detail in dark gray range.

Blacks are not perfectly black (but not too bad).
