A low power, super safe laser for crafters.
Fully enclosed ; Positioning camera ; Easy Software ; Premium materials with QR codes ; Optional membership for designs
Shallow depth ; Glowforge materials are pricey
Glowforge lowers its price, but not its standards, with a sophisticated laser for crafters ready to move up from paper cutters.

The Glowforge Aura is the most accessible craft laser we've tested and requires only a fraction of the money or space that larger models demand.

3D printing's complicated cousin—laser cutting—finally gets its noob-friendly entry point.
Super simple setup. Accessible software, plus a library of designs. Air filter pairs automatically with no effort. Much cheaper than many comparable laser cutters. Entry level for hobbyists or small businesses.
Still too pricey for an impulse buy. Materials and Glowforge Premium subscription can inflate cost. Air filter (for another $400) necessary for most indoor use without proper ventiliation.

The Glowforge Aura is the least expensive laser cutter you can buy from Glowforge. It's simple to use, safe, and fun -- but does the price match the value?
Easy to set up ; Safe to operate ; Can cut, score, or etch a wide variety of materials ; The time from thought to product is short
Optional subscription costs add up ; Proofgrade materials are premium priced ; App is only web-based, with no standalone versions ; Wi-Fi is the only connection type

As long as you're down with the walled garden approach, Glowforge remains a stellar option for point-and-click laser "printing."
Simple, intuitive interface ; Practical, compact design ; Extremely responsive community
Some quality issues on the edges ; Insufficient instructions for promised features ; Aura Filter is loud and expensive
