Unfortunately, the lack of colour configuration options and an inability to use some heavy stock will deter professionals from shelling out for the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II.
For the professional photographer, spending more will get you a more capable alternative with pigment-based inks for increased vibrancy. For amateurs, however, the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II A3+ inkjet photo printer provides great photo quality...

A versatile, eight-ink, A3+ photo printer that should satisfy enthusiasts and semi-pro photographers alike
If you need to print photos larger than A4, the choice comes down to Canon, Epson or HP. Their A3 and A3+ models produce good, multiple-ink colour images, but the accurate colours and fast print speeds of the Pixma Pro9000 Mk II must put it well up the...

Canon's entry-level A3 photo printer delivers great output but is expensive to run
Great photo print quality, CD/DVD printing, reasonably quick
Expensive consumables, lack of colour configuration options, won't support heavy stock media
Canon's PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II A3+ inkjet photo printer is an easy way to print high-resolution photos as well as CD and DVD labels at home. However, with expensive consumables and a lack of configuration options, more expensive printers are actually...

Canon Pixma Pro9000
Excellent color and black-and-white prints; fast printing; accepts paper sizes up to 13x19 inches; can clean nozzles for subset of colors.
Dye prints don't last as long as those made with pigment inks; large footprint; no card reader.
If you don't mind the shorter display life of dye-based prints or the paper choices offered by Canon, the Pixma Pro9000 makes an excellent choice for a medium-format inkjet printer.
