TrekStor - Vibez

It seems all audio players are aimed in some way at a member of the iPod product line. TrekStor's Vibez has its eye on the iPod Nano, the music player in Apple's product line which has ...

There aren't many 12GB memory-based audio players under £150. The Trekstor Vibez is a no-nonsense device, designed to play music and live recordings well. It doesn't do video, it doesn't play games, but it does do microphone and line-in recordings,...

TrekStor Vibez review: TrekStor Vibez

The TrekStor Vibez features a stylish, original design; innovative auto-DJ features; voice and line-in recording; dedicated volume controls; advanced photo-viewing features; and an optional FM tuner. The scroll-wheel interface simplifies song searches.

Album-art option renders text almost unreadable on the TrekStor Vibez, and the FM tuner is not included. The chrome back shows fingerprints and smudges; there's no dedicated hold switch; and the scroll wheel is hard to push accurately.

Better than the iPod Nano in many respects, the TrekStor Vibez scores with its dazzling looks, excellent interface, and solid performance.

TrekStor Vibez 8GB MP3 Player

TrekStor's Vibez media player has several innovative features we really dig; unfortunately, these innovations are undone by a few less desirable traits.

Plays a ton of file formats, and sounds great when doing so

Tiny display, crappy user interface, highly annoying wheel-thingy

We respect the Vibez’s agnostic approach to file-format support, we dig its price tag, and we love the fact that we can add features like an FM radio or video player down the road. It sounds great, too. But its usability failings drive us nuts.

TrekStor Vibez Review

German storage device company TrekStor hasn't been overly hyped for manufacturing innovative audio players - until they released the Vibez. Coming in sizes of 8 and 12GB and designed by former Rio Audio developers, the Vibez incorporates many features...

Very good audio quality, 5-band parametric EQ, option to save profiles, Gapless playback, crossfade, Supports a large variety of audio codecs, MSC and MTP modes, works on any operating system, File/folder browsing and ID3 browsing, Line-in recording in...

Scroll wheel can be awkward and imprecise to use, Real life playback time is closer to 12 hours than the advertised 20 hours, Hard disk instead of flash memory, Tiny low-res screen, microscopic fonts on some menu points, Low output volume, doesn't work...

Packed with tons of nifty features, superb audio quality, a logical interface, and a virtually bug- free firmware, the Vibez is a great device for the serious listener.TrekStor managed to get it right for almost everyone: MSC vs. MTP mode, file/folder...
