The Sony HT-A3000 is the brand's cheapest soundbar, but that doesn't stop it from sounding crisp and powerful with movies and music alike
Big sound for a relatively small soundbar ; Optional upgrade speakers are very good ; Good format support
Bass is a bit light for films ; Optional upgrade speakers are expensive ; No HDMI loopthrough
The Sony HT-A3000 may lack the ‘real’ up-firing channels and power of its step-up siblings, but it still delivers an excellent upgrade on your TV’s built-in sound system for relatively little money. It offers a great if expensive upgrade path, too.

Cinematic sound and Dolby Atmos at an affordable price
Clear dialogue ; Solid dynamics ; On-screen menu system
Projection of sound could be better ; Height channels are weak ; Up against tough competition
Sony’s entry-level Dolby Atmos soundbar is a step in the right direction if you want to improve your TV’s sound, but there are better alternatives

The Sony Alpha A3000 is the brand's new bargain interchangeable lens camera

Sony might have been fashionably late for the party but it's definitely walked into a warm reception

It'd be a slight overstatement to say there was a round of applause when we heard that Sony was going to break the habit of a lifetime and start selling music players that were capable of playing MP3s. But it was certainly greeted as a welcome volte-face.
Its looks are striking and listening to tunes on it really is a joy, but the NW-A3000 is heavy and lacks the user-friendly access to tracks found on its rivals. And despite claiming to be an MP3 player, in reality it's a clunky Atrac player that can...

The unfussy A3000 suggests a good entry point for anyone considering their first ever DSLR – or rather ‘SLT' – interchangeable lens camera

A promising assault on the MP3 market best suited to newcomers
The NW-A3000 is a simple, functional device ; there's no fancy colour screen in there but the monotone display is very smoothly integrated with the translucent chassis and easily shows all the info you need
You knew this was coming really: the CONNECT software is the player's main Achilles heel

While it provides excellent photo quality for its low price, the rest is pretty uninspiring.
With an attractive $400 (or less) price, the ; delivers excellent photo quality for the money.
It's slow, with a poor LCD and only slightly better EVF. Plus Sony doesn't include a charger, which may be an issue for some folks.
If you're just looking for better photo quality than a point-and-shoot on a really tight budget, but not better performance, the Sony Alpha A3000 meets that criterion.

The Sony HT-A3000 is a feature-rich soundbar that delivers a theatre-like experience at home at a cost with the right choice of components.
Pros: ; – Solid sound output ; – Good dialogue clarity, punchy bass ; – Modular approach for components is a good idea ; – Easy to set up, 360 Spatial Sound mapping ; – Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect built-in ; – Dolby Atmos and DTS: X...
– Expensive ; – Only one HDMI port ; – Can drive cost further up for true Dolby Atmos surround sound
The Sony HT-A3000 soundbar launched at Rs 69,990 and can be purchased for Rs 57,990 with a one-year warranty on Amazon India and several offline stores. Mind you, that is the price of the soundbar alone. If you choose to add the SA-SW3 subwoofer, which...
