Philips Active PSA review: Philips Active PSA

Philips's gymworthy hard drive player The durable $200 Philips Active PSA612 MP3 player has fitness written all over it, though many will be surprised to find that the MP3/WMA player's 4GB of storage is hard drive based, not flash based like the 4GB...

The Philips PSA612 packs 4GB into an attractive, fitness-friendly design that features a unique rocking-face control and an antishock option that decreases risk of damage to the hard drive. The simple weatherproof player includes an FM tuner and a...

The buttons on the Philips PSA612 are too stiff to operate easily, and the back cover must be removed to recharge and transfer music. The device's antishock feature is limited, and the display can be difficult to read in daylight. The player will lock...

The Philips PSA612 is decent as a high-capacity fitness player, but if you can spare some change, the 4GB Apple iPod Nano is a better choice overall.

Stay away from this one!

I bought this thinking that it's a cheap MP3 player and I couldn't really go wrong with it. Oh how wrong I was! It has a cute design, but that's about where the fun ends. Hey this is cute, and it's under 40 bucks! What's not to love? It is ...

Great design, small and portable, FM radio

I have a Philips PSA 235(512MB) Digital Sports Audio player and agree with the current reviews completely. Although the speaking stopwatch function is sometimes useful. Looks great, sounds good, but has an atrocious battery consumption. I suggest you...

Sounds Fine, Battery Hog

Works okay. For price was not expecting much. Bought one for my wife and me for workouts. Designed well physically for that purpose, when using the armband.

Slim design works well when working out

Absolute battery hog. This is the single biggest issue

Great design, horrible battery life, stay away from this one

I bought two of these as gifts for my mother and girlfriend. Within the first month, they had each gone through a couple batteries. Some reviews and information said the batter life was 15 hours or 20 hours. It was more like 2 hours.

Great "Rocker" design, nice looking unit

Horrible battery life, too large earphones, difficult access to USB port, lost presets
