I used this recorder to make high quality, live MP3 recordings of myself playing wedding music samples on my cello accompanied by a play-along CD on my stereo. I emailed the MP3 recordings to my niece for her to play on her computer and MP3 player so...

The manual sucks. You can get a better understanding of the functionality of the recorder by loading the accompanying disc. There is a pdf manual that you can view on your computer.
