iRiver T30 review

iRiver T30 Although they're often considered well designed and comprehensive, iRiver's digital music players can also be somewhat complicated. By the company's standards, the 512MB T30 is rather straightforward both in appearance and operation. The big...

Supports subscription WMA files; small and light; solid audio quality; voice and line-in recording.

No FM radio; occasional glitches in playing subscription downloads.

The T30 is a basic player by iRiver standards, but Janus support makes it an attractive flash-based device.

iRiver T30 512MB

Those people who know me well know that I'm a very heavy user of my iPod and iTunes setup. I own thousands of songs (legally), many, many from the

Small and lightweight ; Comes with nice earphones and carrying strap ; Excellent audio quality ; Many features

The menus are laid out a bit oddly, meaning features aren't always in the most intuitive location ; Using WMP 10 to manage files and playlists isn't as straightforward as iTunes or other...

Despite my concerns about WMP 10 and it's suite of services, I like this player a lot. It's small, light, has a ton of features, and a pleasant display (the iPod Shuffle has no display). I'd like the music purchase/transfer process to be a little less...

Great sounding player

This player is compact, has great sound, plays ogg vorbis encoded files and purchased "recertified" is a super deal

The original firmware is a drag. Using the firmware update that converts it to a USB Mass Storage Device is the way to go

Perfik!

I got this player for two reasons: after extensive research I learned that iRiver mp3 players supposedly have the best voice recorder of all, and I was looking for a super cheap field recorder. Secondly, I'm going to be stuck on an airplane for ten...

Easy to understand menus, easy file transfer, easy easy easy. Great sound, lots of options and settings, terrific voice recording

Recertified: iRiver T30 Rose red 1GB MP3 Player T301GB

I bought this because I love my 799 but hopefully I can get this resolved and be able to reccommend iriver again!

haven't found any yet

I tried this with 2 windows XP computers and it will not be seen with the iriver program or as a usb device. It tries to synch with windows media player but gets 5% done with errors. Iriver tech support is not so good through the e-mail. I have a older...

These things are awesome

I have played with iPxds and Zxns, but after buying one of these, I bought 2 more and gave them to my brothers as gifts. OGG, MP3, WMA. The ability to store data files. The ability to voice record (picks up from a decent distance and it sounds pretty...

Plays OGG, MP3, WMA audio files. Gets loud. Included headphones aren't the worst with MP3 players. Records voice well

EQ is very limited (for low-budget car stereo integration)

Fine for music, not so good for books

I purchased the T30 because it supports protected WMA files. It works fine with the Y! subscription music service and for playing MP3 and WMA files. However, it doesn't work so well for audiobooks from my local library system. The audio files are...

Excellent

I really enjoy my iriver T30 it prouces great sound and is very durable. It is more than small enough to fit in my pocket and comes with me everywhere i go.

This is great, it is extremely small and light, produces extremely crisp and nice sound (with good earphones) and is very durable. It has long battery life and an inbuilt equaliser which lets you personalise it depending on the type of music you like...

There are not many cons that i can find about this, other than the software that comes with it (which is a pain to use but is not necessary) this is a great piece of equipment.
