iRiver - S10

Apple's iPod may have the expensive, hard disk-based end of the digital audio player market tied up, with a high percentage of all players sold. At the cheaper, memory-based end, though, things are a lot more ...

If you were offered an iPod Shuffle or an iRiver S10, it's hard to see how you could pick the iPod. There's so much more the S10 can do and, just as important, you can see what it's doing. The control system is very intuitive and its playback of MP3,...

Review: iRiver S10 - stylish shuffle contender

The propaganda iRiver is muscling in on Apple's territory with its titchy S10 MP3 player. Measuring a mere 30x42x10.8mm the S10 is almost the same size as the shuffle, but where the latter just has a ring of control buttons, iRiver has squeezed in a...

Tiny Tunes- iRiver S10 Review

The iRiver S10 may be as small as an iPod shuffle but they manage to endow it with a 1.15" OLED screen and multi-codec playback all for just twenty pounds more. Not bad but what is it like to live with everyday?

The iRiver S10 is a great model in the entry level digital music player market. Its tiny design combined with great feature set makes it an attractive choice.

Tiny design, Reasonably broad list of features, Intuitive controls

Sound still a little lacking, Battery life is poor

iRiver S10 (2GB) review: iRiver S10 (2GB)

The iRiver S10 features a cute, wearable design with an innovative, clickable screen; the bright OLED screen makes for easy navigation. The player includes nice extras such as an FM tuner, voice recorder, and alarm clock. It also plays OGG files and...

The iRiver S10 is expensive, suffers from an unimpressive battery life, and doesn't support DRM-protected music. Oddly, it doesn't support JPEG photos--only BMP. It may be ; tiny for some users.

The undeniably cute iRiver S10 sounds great and is packed with features, but its lofty price tag and paltry battery life might be a deterrent for some users.

iRiver S10 (2GB)

So tiny! So cute! The mini S10's looks are the stuff of geek dreams, and the features and performance mostly live up to the fantasies.

Brilliant design ; D-Click navigation ; Good transfer speed

Poor battery life ; Lacklustre FM auto scan

We auditioned the S10 with Diana Krall's You are Getting to be a Habit with Me. Highs and mids were detailed with ample warmth. There was also plenty of presence in terms of bass. On Massive Attack's Angel, the low end was strong and boomy.
