When is an MP3 player not an MP3 player? Maybe the answer is when it adds extra functionality as with the H320.

Performance

iRiver H300

Excellent audio playback and recording quality; vibrant color interface; strong battery life; compatible with DRM-protected WMAs and subscription-based services; decent FM tuner.

Slight learning curve; photos load slowly; no simultaneous photo and music playback; controls can be confusing at first; slow start-up; no on-the-go playlist.

As did the phased-out H120, the H340 will attract those who value features as well as superior audio playback and recording quality over style.

iRiver H320

The iRiver H320 is a no-compromises player that sounds terrific and records beautifully.

Excellent audio quality. Easy navigation via color screen. Excellent recording capability. Displays photos, text. Doesn't require a driver.

No menu listing by song. Lacks lossless compression codecs. No slide show mode for photos. Low resolution for photos.

Value for money: iRiver H320 is excellent value for money. It is in the same price range with iPod, but H320 gives you more functionality, beautiful sound and personal style.
