iRiver B30 review

The iRiver B30 has 8GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via a microSD slot, which takes memory cards up to 8GB in capacity. It supports numerous file formats, including MP3, WMA, OGG, ASF, FLAC and APE for audio and MP4, AVI and WMV for video....

We have mixed feelings about the iRiver B30. It’s similarly priced to the 8GB iPod touch, which doesn't have an integrated DAB+ digital radio tuner (but offers a bigger screen, Wi-Fi and lots of apps). We’d definitely like the design to be improved;...

iRiver B30 portable media player / digital radio

The iRiver B30 can play MP3s and video files, and also lets you tune in to digital radio

Great audio quality, built-in digital radio

Poor design

We have mixed feelings about the iRiver B30. The audio quality and integrated digital radio tuner are great, but its design and control scheme are irritating.

iRiver B30

DAB+ tuner. Micro SD slot. FLAC and OGG playback. Great sound.

Even Creative's software is better. Small capacity. Controls are too sensitive. DAB+ antenna is unwieldy.

Idiosyncratic as hell, the iRiver B30 is a feature-complete player with sparkling sound, but it won't put a fire up the Cupertino boys.

iRiver B30 MP3 player hands-on

With digital radio underway in Australia, the iRiver B30 is the only player on the market that can support DAB+ cover art. Take a look at our hands-on here.

OK

Despite the cons as i said it is still the only one on the market. If you need one that records and are desperate buy this if not wait until a better one comes out. I think Iriver has updated this one in a new model so it might be better now but don't...

It is a portable digital radio (DAB+)/mp3 player/video player in one. You can also record using this device

Well the recording for the DAB+ is not reliable, I previously had one and had to take it back as it would just screw up everytime. It records in .dap which is not playable on the computer. The DAB+ reception is good. It was also extremely pricy. Having...

Excellent

I am anti-Apple so I bought an iRiver MP3 player and loved it. One of the best things about it was that it also had the radio, so you could listen to other things than your own music all the time. Its 4GB capacity was large enough and I loved the large...

large screen, large buttons, easy to use

that you have to make your playlists on the computer (but I think you have to do that with everything)
