Gateway MP3 Photo Jukebox (6GB)

The Gateway MP3 Photo Jukebox is a fine upgrade to a music player with handy photo capabilities.

Excellent sound quality. Very low distortion. Interesting feature set. Bright color display. Supports Napster to Go.

Display is unreadable when backlight is off. Bulky cable. Proprietary USB/charger interface.

Gateway MP3 Photo Jukebox

The Gateway MP3 Photo Jukebox can off-load and display images from cameras that adhere to the USB 2.0 mass storage device specifications.

Highly portable music player with a viewer and file manager for digital photographs. Ability to upload from cameras and manage camera memory is a plus. Color display aids user interface. Plays lossless-encoded files.

Color screen is small (1.6 inches) and lacks crispness. Bulky cables at odds with otherwise sleek design. Screen unreadable with backlight off.

Affordable way to display pictures, listen to digital audio, and download pictures from compatible cameras or via a USB memory-card adapter; compatible with subscription-based downloads and protected WMA files; compact and easy to use; removable battery.

No belt clip or holster included; hollow-sounding earbuds; some details missing from step-by-step instructions, despite massive manual in the box; mediocre battery life.

Gateway's latest digital audio player offers solid audio playback along with some nifty features for photo buffs on the go, but check out others in its class before you buy.
