Creative (70PF108000047) Digital Audio Player

Creative - Zen Micro

It's not difficult to deduce that Creative got the idea for its Zen Micro hard drive music player from the Apple iPod mini. Technically the two players have a fair amount in common, and they have ...

We can best sum up the Zen Micro by referring to the On/Off switch. Toggle it one way and the player starts up with a funky blue backlight that surrounds the screen and illuminates the controls beautifully. Start an album playing and flick the switch...

Creative Zen Micro

It may never attain the fashion icon status of the iPod Mini, but in terms of value and versatility the Zen Micro beats all competitors.

With 5GB of storage, you can carry around roughly 1,250 tracks in MP3 format or twice as many in WMA, with the additional option of using part of the hard disk to store data files.

Zen Micro 5GB Mp3 Player

The Creative Zen Micro 5GB digital audio player packs a lot of functionality into a small space. This ambitious player does a lot of things ably, but we found room for improvement.

The player ships with two software applications: the inelegant Creative MediaSource (for ripping CDs and syncing your music library with your Zen) and the Zen Micro Media Explorer (which simplifies viewing, sorting, and copying Zen Micro contents from...

Creative Zen Micro

After nearly nine months in a fast-moving market, the Creative Zen Micro is holding up very welland looking mahvelous in its nine different colors. When we first reviewed the Zen Micro, we were impressed with its audio performance and pleased with its...

High-quality playback. Voice recording. FM radio. Battery charges via USB connection.

Touch-sensitive controls take some getting used to. Weak FM reception. Noticeable distortion under some conditions.

The Creative Zen Micro is still the value leader among small hard drive players, and in terms of sound quality, it is also a performance leader.

Creative Zen Micro (5GB)

The Creative Zen Micro features an FM tuner/recorder, a voice recorder, and a PIM that syncs with Outlook. You can choose from 10 colors and easily replace the removable battery. The Zen Micro is also compatible with subscription-based online music...

The Creative Zen Micro's touch-pad navigation won't impress everyone, and the fact that it records voice and FM tuner in only WAV format is a bit of a bummer. There's also no dedicated volume control.

The colorful and versatile Creative Zen Micro will make lots of users happy.

Creative Zen Micro (5GB)

This colourful, multi-featured player is a little beauty, offering a solid alternative to the ubiquitous iPod range.

Built-in FM tuner/recorder ; Voice recorder ; Excellent sound quality ; A wide array of colour choices ; Removable battery ; Plays WMA format

Touch-pad navigation won't impress everyone ; Records voice and FM tuner in WAV format only ; No dedicated volume control
