Cowon iAudio V5 review

The wide range of file support and its miniHDMI plus SPDIF stereo are the killer features that make the Cowon V5 a great buy for audiophiles.

The Cowon V5 (32GB version) costs £309 which is a bit steep when you can get a 64GB Apple iPod touch for £306. The V5 for is those dedicated users who need a portable media player that provides superior audio/video playback and a good connectivity...

Cowon iAudio V5 HD media player

An excellent portable video player that's small, light, and has a decent battery life and a superb 4.8in screen.

The V5 isn't cheap but you are getting one heck of a portable media player for your money, one with superb audio performance, great video format support and a superb quality screen. The menu structure is antediluvian and the lack of playlist support...

Cowon iAudio V5 portable media player (32GB)

Despite a distinct trend of multimedia phones taking over, Cowon seems to be focussed on pushing new PMP and MP3 players into the market

Excellent sound, very good HD video playback, good format support, great battery life

Uninspiring interface, no Wi-Fi, better OS and more app support would make it better

Cowon V5 HD 16 GB Personal Media Player

The world of personal media players might be in trouble according to some folks, what with the mobile phone now able to do everything a PMP can. But there will always be a niche of brands that offer quality, and albeit are priced more. Cowon has carved...

At a cost of Rs.16500, this becomes quite pricey, and the only real thing it has going for it is the core video and audio performance. The apps and browser can be substituted in something like an iPod Touch, that is cheaper too. The HD video out...

Cowon V5 32GB

Looking for a PMP that will let you hook it up to your HDTV and watch HD video? This might be just what you need.

Excellent sound ; Very good HD video playback ; Wide format support ; Great battery life

Uninspiring interface ; No Wi-Fi ; Better OS and more App support would make it better

Another premium PMP from Cowon that offers excellent audio and video playback. The wide range of file support and its miniHDMI plus SPDIF stereo are the killer features that would make this PMP a great buy for audiophiles.

Cowon V5 HD Review

Read on for the not so surprising in-depth review of this portable media player.

Ones step forward, two steps back. I'm very disappointed by the Cowon V5 as a whole. One would think Cowon would have used the last year or two to rethink their PMP plans and improve on the botched O2. Yet the V5 has just a better screen, working 720p...

Cowon V5 disappoints and frustrates

The biggest problem is that my V5 is irritatingly uncooperative at random intervals (just now, the device decided to become unresponsive to touch screen input, even with the stylus, leaving me no option other than to turn it off and wait a for it to...

Wealth of audio formats accepted (especially Flac, and OGG) ; Superior audio quality ; Very pretty video ; Huge screen

Shockingly, Cowon has come out with a very disappointing V5, despite enticements such as the gorgeous screen, DivX video, and stellar audio playback ; User interface is somewhat irritating (the plethora of non-working icons crammed onto the main menu...
