Apple iPod 20GB

Just when there were starting to be too many iPods to choose from, Apple comes along and simplifies the entire range. The new all-singing,all dancing iPods now have colour screens and a few extra features

Full colour screen, Browse photos easily, Listen to 5,000 songs

Not as portable as iPod mini, iPod back scratches easily, No FireWire lead included

The new iPod 20GB has a colour screen, looks great and works like a dream

Lots of storage capacity ; impressive battery performance ; Genius playlist support ; browse album and artist features ; slightly brighter display ; charges with FireWire connection

Doesn't include such cool new iPod nano features as accelerometer or spoken menus ; those with large media libraries may mourn the loss of the 160GB classic

Apple iPod Classic second generation

The second-generation iPod Classic adds a new Genius playlist feature to its time-tested combination of music, video, podcast, audiobook, and photo playback.

EQ control is limited; some older iPod video accessories may not be compatible; the plastic screen is susceptible to scratching; users are required to use the latest version of iTunes, which may not work on some older computer systems.

The iPod Classic refines the formula that put the iPod on the map. Few can match its combination of storage capacity, battery life, and intuitive user interface.

Crisp, bright, color screen and photo features for same price as previous monochrome version ; Excellent sound quality ; Works with existing accessories ; Good battery life

No bundled AV or FireWire cables ; Requires syncing with iTunes to “project” photos (to a TV) that have been uploaded via camera adapters
