Wacom Cintiq 21UX

With its largest Cintiq graphics tablet, Wacom marries the stylus talents of its award-winning Intuos 4 to a 21in IPS monitor for stunning results.

Similar experience to drawing on paper ; Beautiful IPS display, excellent build ; Matt glass layer doesn't reflect ; Fully and easily adjustable ; Generous, intuitive controls

Expensive ; 1600 x 1200 resolution ; No hardware display profiles/presets ; Heavy

Meanwhile, the stand’s unique folding legs allow the tablet to be tilted as flat as you like, so that you can draw on it just as you would on a piece of paper. These tilt adjustments are made by gently pulling two levers to the sides of the tablet,...

Wacom Cintiq 21UX review

Thanks to a recent redesign, the 22-inch Wacom Cintiq 21UX now offers twice the pressure sensitivity of its predecessor, two strategically repositioned Touch Strips, and 16 programmable ExpressKeys that enable you to customize the tablet to fit your...

Wacom Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display is a dream tool for electronic artists looking to expand their digital palettes. But with a £1,250 inc VAT price tag and a weight of nearly 11kg, many will find it too costly or too bulky to meet their needs.

Wacom Cintiq 21UX

Elegant, easy to use and a brilliant idea – the Cintiq has it all. You may have to sell a limb to afford one though.

The Cintiq is no ordinary tablet, however. It’s an Interactive Pen Display, meaning that it doubles as a 21-inch monitor and connects to your computer exactly like one. In use, it’s outstanding. Fire up Painter, create a new document or import a sketch...

Get more from the wet paint system in Photoshop or Painter with the Cintiq 21UX

Hands-down the best way to draw and paint digital artworks

Screen glare issues; large and heavy if used on your lap; expensive

Every artist, designer, animator and compositor will want a Cintiq 21UX. It makes drawing, painting, designing and rotoscoping like being a kid with crayons again – it’s just so much fun to use. Its price will put many off, but if you can afford it...

Cintiq 21UX

In September 2004, Wacom wowed creatives with a top-of-the-range Intuos3 professional graphics tablet. Six months on, the company has taken the stunning styling and features of the Intuos3 and migrated them to its Cintiq line with the release of the...

Styling guaranteed to turn any creative's head, largest screen, programmable Express Keys and TouchKey boost productivity.

Too heavy to use on your lap for any length of time.

The Cintiq ships with a stand that allows the tablet to be used from nearly flat to an angle of 60 degrees. The stand can also rotate 180 degrees. The Cintiq can be balanced on your lap but you wouldn't want to for prolonged periods because leg...

Touch screen, rugged stand

Can't achieve full 90 degrees or 0 degrees to the ground, expensive

This pricey touch screen monitor allows working with images in new ways, but its size and limited positioning options can make it tough to use.

Review: Wacom Cintiq 21UX Pen Display

The Cintiq trumps other input tablets by allowing you to draw directly on the surface of the display.

Amazingly natural to work with. Pressure sensitivity makes drawing on a computer as intuitive as drawing on paper. Highly accurate. Gorgeous display. Connects via USB and DVI-I

High price point. Lack of 90-degree adjustability can cause neck strain after prolonged use (like an eight-hour workday)
