Iain Laskey thinks Wacom's Bamboo One shows graphics tablets have become mainstream

Pen could be better

The Wacom Bamboo One is a remarkably good product for the price, from the moment you open the box it oozes a quality far greater than the price would suggest. The slight pen niggles aside, we have little to complain about. It works well with a variety...

Not Just for Graphics

Wacom Bamboo One

It is easy to set up just plug into your computer and follow the set up steps. It has a nice flow to it and I find there is no lag to the pen. There is a nice and easy to follow tutorial to acquaint yourself to the use of the tablet.

The pen does not sit in the hand easily and the buttons on it can be accidentally pressed often. Not a very good pen holder and the pen tends to role away often.

its easy to setup and use, is very good value for money compared to others on the market, and is quite compact.

Works wonderfully using Linux Mint 11. Just plug it in and it works. It couldn't be easier. I now hardly use my mouse because using the Wacom Bamboo One Graphics pen is much quicker. No installation required on my system. Excellent with MyPaint,...

Absolutely none! Learning to use it I guess depends on ones ability to use a pen or paint brush but so long as you've got those abilities there are no down sides.

Quick set up, easy to understand

should have an option to stop drawing when rehearsing how to trace a line for example. Found it a bit uncomfortable thar it draws all the time even if the pen is not touching the tablet. I use sketch from autodesk.

Excellent for beginners. Much more creative control in photoshop and excellent value for money.

Own software is poor and the scroll function is limiting, but it still represents good value for money

easy to use, good quality for good price

the downloadable software is a bit pointless, you need photoshop or similar to use with it.

easy to install lots of good features for a budget price , good size tablet for most jobs. I use it for CS5 projects.

can be tricky to used at first /navigate with - although that is more about tablets in general not synonymous to this particular one. Pens can be trickier to get used to over a mouse.
