You'll remember the tale of the three blind mice. The farmer's wife cut off their tails with a carving knife. Well, it seems that the cold-hearted vixen is at it again, as here before us is yet another tail-less mouse.

Wireless Mighty Mouse

Apple's Mighty Mouse dispenses with the traditional one-click nature of Apple's mice, but doesn't quite make it into two-button territory

Uses Bluetooth so no dongle required, battery meter in System Preferences, great control

Tricky to use at first, you may still prefer two separate buttons, heavy with both batteries placed inside, expensive

It's not the cheapest mouse on the market, and its accessibility to beginners leaves a lot to be desired, but despite this, it remains the wireless mouse of choice for a Mac person.

Wireless Mighty Mouse

Apple has improved its input device by replacing its USB cord with a wireless Bluetooth connection and upgrading its eyesight with a laser-tracking engine.

Good battery life. On/off switch. Excellent wireless range. Attractive design. Useful scroll ball lets you move in every direction. Precise tracking.

Force-sensing buttons difficult to press. Limited button-programming options.

The Wireless Mighty Mouse is competitively priced against multi-buttoned laser mice from the likes of Logitech - and its styling fits perfectly with the Mac aesthetic

The Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse deliver simplicity and elegance, but at some cost to wrist comfort.

Sleek design. Thin profile with a small footprint. Bluetooth connectivity. Keys are soft, fast, and responsive. Excellent software utilities support in OS X

Bluetooth wireless connectivity (even works in Windows, with Boot Camp); batteries lend welcome heft; ease to install and set up.
