Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse review

The Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is a Bluetooth-enabled computer mouse designed for Windows 8 that retails for around £35, although Microsoft sets the SRP at £49. It's compact, understated in design, and contains a modicum of touchpad control ability....

The Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is a well-priced portable mouse that will happily double up as your regular desktop or laptop mouse. It's well constructed, although not of the highest quality. It works well with Windows 8, although it doesn't have all...

With its ergonomic, ambidextrous design and compatibility with Windows and Mac operating systems alike, the Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is a versatile choice for lefties and righties alike regardless of which operating system they use.

Ambidextrous design. Bluetooth connectivity saves up USB ports. Mac compatible. Bluetrack technology yields smooth tracking.

Bluetooth, works perfectly. Virtual scroll wheel is cool.

On/Off switch is a bit fiddly, no worse than that.

Comfortable, good to use, nice scroll feature. Good partner for a Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Not good for shiny/glass surfaces

Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse

The unit doesn't ship with a Bluetooth dongle which is a massive oversight in my opinion. Has worked with two aftermarket Bluetooth adaptors on my Windows 8.1 machine but strangely not on my Windows 7 machine. Most likely a fault with the Windows 7...

The scroll function with haptic feedback is hilarious, and actually works surprisingly well. Bought one back in January and now its September and I haven't had to change the batteries yet. Range is unnecessarily long - my son took it to show someone...

Like any Bluetooth product, there is a delay of a few seconds after you switch it on before it connects. Otherwise flawless.

Easy to connect. Nice and smooth to use.

Keeps disconnecting. The top button has a annoying sound.

Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse

Good size, weight.

You have to install extra software to program the mouse. Mouse movement is jerky and inconsistent, particularly when changing direction (both the mouse and laptop are on the same desk and wireless is disabled, so this isn't a range/interference issue)....
